When a personnel issue lands on a Head of School's desk, it rarely stays in HR. It travels through governance, leadership teams, and staff relationships, and how the Head of School and HR Director respond together often decides whether it stays manageable or blows up. In this interactive workshop, participants explore how governance, HR, and personnel issues are interconnected, and why Heads and HR Directors must work openly, transparently, and in lockstep. Drawing on frameworks from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, participants learn to build sociograms that map informal influence, then apply them to a case study rooted in real school experience. Participants leave with a sociogram they have started, a Head-HR communication protocol, and one concrete next step to take back to their school.
